With 60 employees and 25 trucks, United Shellfish Company distributes quality seafood to over 1,200 customers in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. We are the exclusive distributors of Ipswich Shellfish Group select quality brands, offering an unparalleled variety of product line options.
We cater to your business’s individual needs by providing both convenient quantities and tailored portioning, with same day deliveries for most areas for orders placed before 7:00 a.m. Our products are always fresh and of premium quality.
Our stringent quality control and state-of-the-art seafood processing techniques ensure the safety of our products and the satisfaction of our customers. To honor our commitment to product safety, we voluntarily invest in testing that goes beyond industry requirements. In addition to required monitoring, we test products and facilities for mercury, bacterial plate counts, coliform, e-coli, and histamines where applicable. Additionally, we employ full-time on-site HACCP coordinators at our processing and distribution center and verify our compliance via third party audit by NSF Cooks and Thurber. United Shellfish Company complies with Good Manufacturing Practices, meets or exceeds the global standard (GFSI) for Safe Quality Foods (SQF), and is FDA registered.

Our fleet of custom refrigerated trucks operate up to six days per week, providing direct delivery service from our facility to your door. United Shellfish Company is a division of Ipswich Shellfish Group, founded in 1935 by George Pappas. With a growing business built on trust and an increasing demand for extraordinary seafood, Mr. Pappas decided to extend his company’s reach to the Mid-Atlantic with their United Shellfish Company location in Grasonville, Maryland.
Family owned, Ipswich Shellfish Group continues to be dedicated to his original vision of pairing the finest quality seafood with outstanding customer service.
